Wonder in the face of Advent

Eugene Peterson urges us to "wonder" in the face of Advent and the profound meaning of Incarnation. Today let's talk about ways you can cultivate wonder in your life. Are you able to make time in these coming days to do that. We invite you to share with each other some of the different ways that you have found to do this.

It's not difficult to find wonder in this world, especially if you "Be still" (Ps. 46:10). At this time of year, people get so crazed with the commercialism (buying gifts, decorating, parties, etc.), it's hard to "be still". I try to slow down this time of year, let people pass me on the highway, let people go in front of me in lines, etc., because everyone is in such a hurry. When they see someone giving them more room, more time, they also stop to acknowledge the meaning of this time of year.

I am in a comtemplative prayer group and it helps me with the slowing down. I too sense the hectic pace of Holiday life and wonder WHY? Why are we missing the gift of our Lord in all the rush.
