A future peace. The "peaceable kingdom." Do you seek a future time when there will be peace between species, between nations, between neighbors? Will God bring about that peace; will we; or some combination of the two?

I think that scripture from Isaiah is one of the most beautiful! What an amazing image. I'd say I definitely hope for that. As to whether we will bring it about or God or both - I have no idea how to answer those questions. We don't seem to do such a good job as mankind bringing about peace. Another scriptural/spiritual image I can't wrap my rational mind around! Maybe that's my personal prayer for Advent - to gain a little more understanding by listening and looking for God an not using my head.
I don't know if we can ever achieve peace, either alone or with God's help.
I do know that the right thing to do is to never stop trying for it anyhow, even when we feel it's hopeless, even when our own efforts seem very small indeed.
Sometimes little efforts do great things.
