The Power of Confession

Scott Cairns reminds us of the necessity of confessing our sins to another. When have you known the power of confession in your life?

I think that confession is all about the relationship. I would so much rather you be honest with me about who you are; and,I think, so would God. Ofcourse he already knows who I am but my confession makesit a two way street: a relationship.

This was the perfect reading for me today. I was JUST confessing something to someone last night that I'd been holding on to and really actually enjoying my anger about - and I said "I'm so embarassed - this is the same thing I've been talking about for years!" and they had to remind me that God doesn't see things the way I do - I'm so proud it feels like a failing thing to talk about it again - but it's the very thing that drives me to Jesus and, if I LISTEN to Him, each time I talk it will be with a little more understand of how God talks to me through my weaknesses.
