The purifying effects of grace - from Emilie Griffin

How have I been changed by friends, people who love me? And how have I sometimes learned to change from adversarial relationships? If I am really living the Christian life, deeply, there will be times of difficulty and darkness as I move towards the light. Am I grateful for the purifying effects of grace?

It's usually after a difficult situation has come to it's end that I can just begin to see the positive influence of that probem or strife. And even as the years go by I can see more clearly what a ' good thing" it was for that pain or struggle, or disppontment - takes some distance in time often.
